Here’s an excerpt from a 1937 Joe E. Brown comedy, “When’s Your Birthday?”, featuring an animated sequence by Bob Clampett, one of the original animators/directors for Warner Brothers “Loony Tunes” and the creator of the early sixties animated series, “Beany and Cecil“.
Incidentally, Joe E. Brown is most famous for his role in one of the greatest comedy films of all time, “Some Like It Hot“. He delivers the film’s last line. I highly recommend you watch the film to hear that line.

Go to Red Orbit to read all about the mysterious astral bodies known as “Centaurs”.
That’s me role-playing the Comedy Bang! Bang! centaur. If you’d like to have some fun with this, too, go here.
“Disney’s Hercules” seems to have cornered the market on villainous and thoroughly unappetizing centaurs. In this case, “The Aetolian Amphora” (1st Season, Ep. 45) from the animated series, the centaur in question is a grey-skinned brute with sharpened teeth. (He appears first at 11:07.) Every time I see this kind of purposefully ugly animation I long for what might have been. Curse you Gerald Scarfe!
For some more hideous centaurs check out, “The Techno Greeks”, (1st Season, Ep. 7). (The ugly brutes first appear at 15:20):
What if they were actually recruiting centaurs?
