Serious Centaur Illustration: Cover Art by Manuel Sanjulian

This is the first draft of a cover for Eerie Magazine by Manuel Sanjulian. An interesting composition of centaurs fending off a human. Obviously not interesting or exciting enough as this concept was dumped for the second draft.

This is the second draft of the cover for Eerie Magazine done by Ken Kelly. The final painting is based on this work. It is definitely more exciting and violent than the first draft and the composition is better as well, though the central theme of spearing to death a centaur and the implication that humans would be better warriors than centaurs is a bit of stretch to my way of thinking.

Here is the completed cover art. An excellent if gruesome work featuring centaurs. One of whom gets the wrong end of the stick, so to speak.
